Some exciting things have been happening in the Butler University College of Education. We recently created several certificate programs, which can be used for up to 12 credit hours in a graduate program, should candidates decide to pursue graduate work.
One of these certificate programs is the Hinkle Academy for Wellness and Sport Leadership. It is a collaboration among the College of Education, Butler Athletics, and the Health Recreation Center (HRC) at Butler University. What’s unique about the Hinkle Academy is the collaboration of multiple disciplines at Butler, but also that the certificate is online. There is an intensive one-week Indy Lab experience that candidates would attend where they would meet their professors and get an overview of the program.
This certificate is open to everyone. While we believe that the most interest may come from sport and wellness professionals and those involved with physical education, it really is open to anyone who may have an interest in this field!
The Hinkle Academy offers two 8-week sessions of the fall course. Session 1 is August 29-October 16. Session 2 is October 19-December 11. Application deadline for the first fall session is August 19th. The second fall session application deadline is October 12th. Prospective candidates can find out more information or begin their application by visiting the Hinkle Academy website: https://www.butler.edu/hinkle-academy. For questions about the new Hinkle Academy program, contact Dr. Mindy Welch, Program Coordinator, at 317-940-9550 or mwelch@butler.edu.
