The Indianapolis Alliance of Black School Educators (IABSE) invites you to attend the 8th annual IABSE Education Forum and Reception in collaboration with Indiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (IACTE).
This year’s discussion theme is: Increasing and Retaining African American University Students in the Education/Teaching Pipeline
HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS YEAR’S FORUM
• Minority students majoring in Education are invited to network and socialize with students from other campuses.
• Selected students of color from various schools will serve on our panel and discuss some of the successes and challenges they encounter.
• Students will be selected and awarded tickets to the Indiana Black Expo Circle City Classic Football Game scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2015.
• University faculty members, high school counselors, and other interested supporters are invited to participate and bring students to share in the discussion. Some faculty members will also be invited to share information.
• Learn what we all can do to help retain African American education majors and recruit educators from our Indiana Schools of Education.
Refreshments will be served!
FIVE SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED TO STUDENTS WHO ARE CHOSEN BASED ON APPLICATION CRITERIA. APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY MIDNIGHT, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2015.
