I went through all the BU Answers to see if there were any answers that needed updated and added these items to a list that Cierra had started before me. I also went through the Info Commons libguide to look for things that needed to be updated as well. I had a few consultations as well during this time.

I did everyday tasks.  I helped with a question about a journal article.  I edited a few BUAnswers to reflect new information. In the question “How do I connect my PC to the Butler printers on campus?” I changed \\ada to \\buprint for the new print drivers.  There are two conflicting questions in BUAnswers.  “Where can a student receive a fax?” states that students cannot receive a fax on campus and “Does the library have a fax machine I can use?” states that you can send or receive a fax at the circulation desk.  Printers seem to be taking a while to print.  People will stand by them for a min or two before anything comes out.  We need to watch for multiple posts about the same subject.  I posted in the “Updates” page about how to print on special paper from IL_120_K because it looked like we had a patron use the color printer because they had resume paper.

Today I had two questions about journal, one being about the Sociology Journals from the professor that wants a hard copy of an article.  I did the everyday tasks.  The right printer was being picky about registering the main tray for printing as being closed.  I read the Updates page and found a note about a scanning issue about having to reenter an email address.  Ginny and I are going to test the problem when the scanner is free during my shift.  Both printers had glitches today.  The left one had a paper jam.  I cleared it, but the error message would not go away.  I turned the printer off and on and it was fine.  The right one has a low toner message and cut off a print job when it was only half done.  We looked at the scanner and found that when using the document feeder you enter your email address once and it will do one file with how many pages are on the feeder.  If you need to do a different document you had to manually enter the email address again.  I had one color print job.  Another student asked about the Sociology journals.  I went through BUAnwsers looking for items that needed updating.

Today I did everyday tasks.  I went through Sally’s email about the new Jing tool.  I went through the tutorials that she posted but did not save anything.  I helped a student learn how to use the databases for research.  Helped a student with scanning.   I then did Moodle Training, did not get much farther because of problems getting on the site and getting the videos to play.

Today I did everyday tasks; pushing in chairs, cleaning up the area, and made sure things looked neat.  I had to fill both printers with paper and put staples in one of the staplers.  I got the cash drawer from circulation.  Figured out how to get Digsby to pop up.  There was a message from Scott about the Citation Guides libguide info.  Did Moodle training (I got to section E, either 5 or 6.

Today in the library I had a couple long consultations. For the remaining time I read the article that was posted on the Info Commons facebook page and looked up other technology related articles

Today I did everyday tasks.  I then worked on Moodle training.  I had a few questions about how to work the scanner, so I did not get far in Moodle training.
