Goal for this year to make your info commons experience a success?

My main goal for this year that I believe will help make info commons a success is to help everyone as much as possible. Additionally I want to learn new programs so I can be able to provide the best help I can to students/faculty. Finally I want to help with classroom interactions because I think that is the best way to get the word out about what we do.

Goal for this year to make info commons better as a whole?

I think that my main goal to make info commons better as a whole is to help work on promotions. There are still quite a few people that don’t know what IC does and we need to get the word out. Twitter and Facebook will help but I believe that word of mouth is most effective. People will listen to their friends, so we need to start the casade of word of mouth by going to as many classrooms aas possible and showing the students what we do.

Whole life values and experience

I really appreciated the workshop about whole life values. I think that having balance in your life is the most important thing. I really want to help talk to students about life balance/time management. I think coming from a student perspective will help them relate more. I also believe that the concept of “unplugging” is very important. Too many students get caught up with technology and they are losing proper social etiquette skills. I think that having this aspect in IC is the most important component: we need to help students see that we can help with technology but we can also help show them how to step away.
