0Today I finished my WordPress quiz, and went over Digital Storytelling 101 with Meg. I also went with Meg to a GHS class to help set up Panopto. I also went with her to set up Skype with a web camera and Snowball microphone. Then I set up Skype by myself for a teacher in JH 048.

0Today I finished fine-tuning my WordPress portfolio! I got everything formatted the way I want it and just need to upload my resume once that is updated. I’m happy with the way it turned out and added a link to it on my LinkedIn account. I also did some more work on Dreamweaver. I finished the quiz on Moodle worked on understanding the basics of publishing Dreamweaver websites.

0Today I worked on my WordPress professional portfolio. I also helped an alumni that came in with WordPress questions for about a half an hour to fourty-five minutes. She was interested in starting a WordPress site in the near future and had mostly design and funcitonality questions. I used my website that I was working on to show her some different themes and the customizable features they each come with.
In regards to my WordPress, I was having trouble finding out how to download new plugins. I found a plugin online that would allow posts to be listed on certain pages depending on the category of that post (like on the IC blog). But, I couldn’t figure out how to implement this plugin and activate it on my website. Once I can figure out how to do that, I will be pretty satisfied with my professional portfolio.
I also reviewed Excel videos and practices again to check my knowledge. I also read an interesting article I found on LinkedIn about Google GlassĀ its expectations. The device seems very innovative and useful, and Google developers are trying to get it on the market by the end of this year! This was really fascinating to me and I’m thinking CAT should be involved with future Google Glass training! š

0During my shift at CATĀ worked on my Professional Development project so I could have a break from the Dreamweaver video training. I made a LinkedIn account and field out a majority of it. I connected with like two people from my Google contexts. Here’s the link. Then I made me a professional website/blog. I didn’t want to use WordPress because I am afraid that after i graduate i will lose it and I don’t really like Google Sites options. So i found this free website called Wix.com. Its really easy, there are a bunch of tutorials, templates, and options. During my shift at the library I went over how to how to read call numbers with Ginny and took my WordPress quiz.

0I helped another librarian with some Microsoft Word troubles, answered a few questions, and worked on my LinkedIn profile some more. I also fixed a paper jam and filled the paper in the printer. I also showed Maddie how to close the IC desk because she’s closing on Friday.
