IT Strategy: Building A Foundation of Action

Action is the ancient pillars against a blue skyfoundational key to all success. ~ Pablo Picasso

To ensure a successful implementation of the IT department strategy, the authors of the plan knew that it must be founded upon actionable concepts.  As a way to organize these concepts, four pillars were identified as the foundation of IT work and priority:

Strengthen the Core: Strengthen the technical and business operations foundation from which we build.

Internal Engagement: Grow and strengthen relationships between IT and Butler faculty, staff, and students, supporting excellence in service and fostering strategic partnership.

Innovation and Strategic Transformation: Serve the university as a leader in anticipating and delivering new concepts and value to increase institutional, entrepreneurial, and community opportunities.

People Development: Encourage team collaboration and individual development in support of the vision of IT.

Within each pillar are multiple objectives and initiatives which clearly articulate its goal.  The initiatives are highly meaningful, that’s where concepts become actions and where each IT employee becomes vital to departmental and strategic success.

Future blog posts will share updates on these exciting initiatives!
