STAFF ASSEMBLY GENERAL ELECTIONS

Staff Assembly Nominations OPEN:
The Nominations and Elections Committee is starting the process to elect five (5) At-Large Staff Assembly Executive Committee members. The term of each position is three (3) years: June 1, 2022 – May 31, 2025. These “At-Large” committee members are involved in discussing and addressing staff issues and opportunities, coordinating staff development and relationship-building efforts, and providing input on essential University decisions. Bring your voice into this important group or nominate an individual that will best represent Butler University Staff.

Expectations:
Staff Assembly was created in February 2001 to enhance the work environment and represent the interests and concerns of staff. Staff Assembly is composed of a 12-member Executive Committee and six standing committees. Over 30 staff members are actively involved with Staff Assembly on either the Executive Committee or one of the six standing committees. Staff is the second-largest constituent group on campus with over 700 people working in a staff position.

Nominees are voted on by their staff peers to serve a three-year term on the Executive Committee.  Members are expected to attend one (1) Staff Assembly Executive Committee meeting once a month as well as the monthly General Meeting (for all staff). Members will also be expected to join a Staff Assembly sub-committee such as Difference Makers, Socials and Activities, Professional Development/Networking, Nominations and Elections, Communications, or General Assembly.  A person must be employed by Butler for a minimum of one year before accepting a nomination to a position on the Executive Committee and be in good standing with the University.

2022 Nomination and Election Timeline:  
March 21-April 1: Nominations and Elections (N&E) Committee will accept nominations
April 5-15: N&E Committee verifies with the nominees their acceptance of nomination
*Nominees can accept or decline nominations.
April 18-29: Elections Open – election link will be sent out via Butler Today
May 20: Announcement of new members at Staff Assembly General Meeting
* Announcement on Staff Assembly website, Facebook Page, and Butler Today to  follow the    General Meeting
