Butler Libraries welcomed new students and their parents Sunday, August 24 with a Library Open House.  Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches were served and went fast with this hot Hoosier heat.  Over 500 families and students passed through Irwin Library’s doors.  We hope you had a chance to get to know us; we look forward to getting to know Butler’s first year students!  -Sally Neal, Assistsant Dean for Public Services, Butler Libraries

While furniture, computers, and final touches are still coming, Irwin Library and the Butler University College of Education are building an Education Commons environment in the lower level of Irwin Education students to use for their study and research.  The northwest corner of the lower level of Irwin now houses the Library’s education book and journal collection as well as the Curriculum Resource Center materials.  In the coming weeks, furniture, computers, and a podcasting room will be installed.

Know that all students are welcome to use this reconfigured and updated area along with the Education students!

Wall Street Journal
PressDisplay – PDF full-text of international newspapers from the past 60 days; has foreign-language translation capabilities!
Web of Science Citation databases – find out who else has cited a particular article and look up these articles

You can access these resources by selecting ‘Databases’ off the Libraries’ homepage:  www.butler.edu/library, then following the ‘Full Alphabetical Database List’ link.
