The Bible and Music

I was surprised that I recognized most of the children’s songs that we played or talked about today in class. I thought the one I brought to class would be one of the only ones I would recognize. After listening to several different children’s songs, we analyzed that most of them are simple, repetitive, reassuring, upbeat and happy even when the stories are a little more scary and negative. I wonder why all children’s songs portray such happy versions of stories that are not happy. Maybe it is because the songs would not be sung if they were sad and negative.
