The Bible and Music

When searching for songs that are based on biblical psalms and stories, it is very common to come across several that are inspired by or based on the psalms that were written by David. David is believed to have been a musically gifted man. In fact, most of the psalms in the Bible were written by David, himself. For this reason it is very common that a listener will hear a song that is either based on a psalm that was written by David or based on an event that David was involved in. The Book of David is a compilation of several events that David partook in. The Book of David is also very lengthy which gives composers a lot to work with, and a lot of text to reference. Even an individual with loose associations with the Bible would most likely have heard of David, a story about David, or a song with David in it. This just proves, again, that music can aid in the spread of religion, and can even help educate those on topics covered in the Bible.
