On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in the second game in Super Bowl history to enter overtime.

The game started off slow with a 0-0 score after the first quarter as the teams were in a defensive battle.

The 49ers dominated the second quarter with a 10-0 lead after a 55 yard field goal by Jake Moody and a touchdown by running back Christian McCaffery. Harrison Butker then scored a 28 yard field goal for the Chiefs to bring the second quarter score to 10-3.

Kansas City caught up in the third quarter with another field goal from Butker from 57 yards and a touchdown by wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, allowing the Chiefs to take the lead 13-10.

The 49ers started off the final quarter strong with a second touchdown made by wide receiver Juan Jennings, however the free kick was blocked. The Chiefs made another field goal to tie up the game before the 49ers made another field goal to take back the lead. Kansas City made the final field goal of the quarter with three seconds left to tie up the game 19-19 and sent it into overtime.

Overtime began with a 27 yard field goal by the 49ers in the first possession by Jake Moody giving San Francisco the lead 22-19. In the final seconds of the game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a 3 yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Mecole Hardman, bringing the final score to 25-22.

This win is a back-to-back Super Bowl Championship win for the Chiefs, the first team to do so in 19 years. Patrick Mahomes also earned his third Super Bowl win in Las Vegas and became a three time Super Bowl MVP.

The Chiefs are already looking forward to the next NFL season in hopes of a third Super Bowl win in a row.
