NL Division Winner Predictions

We are nearly a month into the MLB season and here are my picks for who I think will win each National League division in baseball, but only with a very small sample size in mind and a whole season still left to be played

NL East

This division looks to be a two way battle between the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves have been without Ronald Acuna Jr and have not looked good at all, and the Marlins and Nationals are too young to compete.

With that being said though I think the Mets will pull ahead of the Phillies. Their pitching has posted a 2.35 ERA so far even without their top pitching arms in Frankie Montas and Sean Manaea. If their arms can stay healthy and their elite offsenvie trio of Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Pete Alonso all stay healthy it’s going to be a scary team to play.

NL Central

Again another division with a two team battle. The Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers appear to be the two from runners for the central, but it’s less close and the Cubs would appear to be the favorites right now.

Behind newly acquired Kyle Tucker, the Cubs offense has the best run differential in the league at +41 entering April 21st. Losing Justin Steele for the year really hurts them, but with an offense as potent as theirs it’ll be hard for teams to beat them.

NL West

This division is easily the best in baseball and will be a gauntlet all year long. The Padres, Dodgers, Giants, and Diamondbacks have all put together really good starts to their year, but I think it’ll come down to another two team race.

That will end up being the Dodgers and Padres. The reigning champions have one of the best rosters in the league, whilst the Padres have been the best team in baseball to start the year. At the end of the day I think the Dodgers have the more complete team, which will push them to win yet another NL West title.
