“The coronavirus pandemic disrupted education across the U.S. and changed our assumptions about what it means to go to school. When kids return to the classroom, things won’t be the same. Diane Tavenner and Michael Horn answer questions from parents and talk with educators and leading thinkers about how we can approach teaching and learning differently to better meet the needs of all students.”
This podcast series discusses an array of topics, however the research done by EPPSP zeroed in on personalized learning and assessments/grades.
Personalized learning is tailored learning to individual students’ needs and goals at their own pace. Assessments and grades currently allow quick communication with little demonstration of skills acquired.
The research is important as it focuses on the future and how to better drive students to their pathways. The self paced learning and assessment is focused on measuring the progress of real world work. The desire to be future driven educators rather than assessment driven will help prepare students for the world they face.
We invite you to further consider how we might reimagine and redesign schools and education through the ideas discussed in Diane Tavenner and Michael Horn’s Class DisruptED and through the presentation and recording below.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
