An Essay on the Principle of Population.

“An Essay on the Principle of Population” was written by Thomas Malthus and is one of his most discussed and reviewed writings.  Malthus thought that the population of the world would outgrow the amount of food that farmers could grow.  He felt a food shortage was going to occur in the future if the population continued to grow at the rate it was at the time of his writings.  Many people argued at the time that Malthus was simply a pessimist and that his ideas were obscene.  Many people still feel the same way today but one thing is certain.  Malthu’s ideas were groundbreaking and many people still teach and review his ideas today due to the interesting concepts and ideas brought forth.  Malthus was revolutionary because he was one of the first to look at the future economy in such a way.
