From now until Feb. 23, Butler University and Indy Reads are hosting a book drive on campus. The very best items to donate are: 1) children’s books, and 2) best-sellers and classics that will move off the shelves quickly. (Please don’t bring magazines, encyclopedias or textbooks.)

Indy Reads drop boxes are located in the following places on campus: Outside Volunteer Center (AU 100); Diversity Center;  C-Club; hallway before Reilly Room; third floor of Atherton, near lounge; ResCo lobby; Schwitzer lobby; Ross lobby, Irwin Library lobby, Apartment Village lobby, entries of Holcomb, Gallahue, Pharmacy and Health Sciences’ Buildings and Lilly Hall.

Indy Reads is a nonprofit that provides free literacy tutoring to adults in our community. It has worked in collaboration with thousands of volunteers since 1984 with the goal of making Indianapolis 100 percent literate. Many Butler students, alumni and friends support Indy Reads, including the Butler Volunteer Center and Butler First Lady Bethanie Danko, who serves on the Indy Reads board. This spring, Indy Reads will open a new bookstore in downtown Indianapolis called Indy Reads Books.Generously funded by local donors and foundations, the new bookstore will direct all its proceeds to support Indy Reads programming.
