Hamantashen Baking

Sunday, March 4 at 2 pm

Magilah Reading

Wednesday, March 7 at 6 pm

For anyone interested in hearing the Magilah reading at Beth-El Zedeck, Hillel will be happy to provide transportation.

 

Interfaith Purim Party

Thursday, March 8 at 7 pm

Join Hillel and other religious groups at Butler as we celebrate and teach about Purim. There will be a short explanation of Purim by Rabbi Spiegel followed by a game of Jeopardy, mixers, and Purim-themed snacks.

Join Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, Indianapolis PFLAG, and Butler University Hillel for an LGBT Seder. All people–LGBT, straight, Jewish, non-Jewish–are welcome to attend. Celebrate the Exodus story, LGBT liberation and the contemporary struggle for equality and justice!

Cost: $10.00 per person; $12.00 at the door

Study Night

Tuesday, February 14 at 7 pm until 11 pm

As part of the Blue House program to provide a study lounge for Butler students who need it, we are hosting study night and providing a small snack for anyone who would like to study at the Blue House.

 

Bagel Brunch

Sunday, February 19 at 12 pm

Our monthly bagel brunch at the Blue House, come and meet new members or chat with friends over bagels and cream cheese.

 

Fountain Square Bowling

Sunday, February 19 at 1:30 pm

Immediately following our bagel brunch, we will carpool to Fountain Square for bowling, schmoozing, and fun.

Upcoming Events for 2/5-2/11

Tu B’Shevat Seder

Tuesday February 7 at 6 pm

We will be holding a Tu B’Shevat Seder at the Blue House. It will be short and informal with home made food prepared by fellow Hillel students for the occasion. As always, come to hang out and meet new people and celebrate the holiday with us!

 

Movie Night

Thursday February 9 at 6 pm

We are showing an Israeli movie called Meltdown at the Blue House. It’s 25 minutes long about a 12-year-old girl who wants to become an ice skater, but faces problems achieving her dream once her family moves from Russia to Israel. Our sheliah, Adi, will lead a small discussion on the film afterwards. Snacks will be provided.

High Holiday Services

Not sure what to do for Rosh Hashana? BU Hillel is here to help! If you are a student who wants to go to services, we are more than glad to arrange carpools to one of the local synagogues: Temple Beth El Zedek or Hebrew Congregation. Contact Daniel at dmakuton@butler.edu if you want to attend a service or if you have any more questions.

We have similar arrangements for Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur and at 5 pm, we will have a Breakfast.
