The Butler Bulldogs (11-13, 3-10 Big East) Traveled to Villanova to face off against the Wildcats (16-8, 9-4 Big East) on Saturday, February 17 at The Pavilion in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats come into the game riding a three-game winning streak with wins over Seton Hall, Marquette, and Georgetown.
The Bulldogs prevailed over the Wildcats by a final score of 55 to 52, extending their winning streak to three games. BU trailed 15 to 14 after the first quarter of play but had a huge second quarter outscoring Villanova 17 to 10 and lead 31 to 25 at the half.
BU was led by Caroline Strande who had 19 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 2 dimes. Sydney Jaynes also scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Lucy Olsen was the lone player in double figures for the Wildcats. Olsen dropped 21 points on 8 for 21 shooting as well as grabbing 4 boards.
Next up for the Bulldogs, they come back home to host the rival Xavier Musketeers (1-22, 0-14 Big East) on Wednesday, February 22. The game will be broadcast on FS2 and the Fox Sports app.
