Prompt:

The Developmental History Project (an electronic presentation and a completed developmental history questionnaire), should provide a comprehensive summary of your (or your classmate’s):

● social-emotional development;

● cognitive development (including information on your intelligences);

● ethical and moral development; and

● environmental factors that influenced who you are today.

This project will be based on your memories, interviews with family or relevant other persons, personal records, and additional information that is available as well as from information addressed in our classes.

The project should be divided chronologically and must include pictures and/or video of you at various life stages:

● birth to two years

● pre-school years

● elementary school

● intermediate school

● high school

● college

OR, you can divide it up by domain (i.e. significant events and how they shaped your moral development, social- emotional development, cognitive development, etc.). Corresponding pictures are required.

An additional component of the project is to explain how understanding the various developmental might be used to influence practice (e.g.: help you help your future students have successful learning experiences). Specifically, how will an increased understanding of child development theories enable you to be more skilled at working with your future grade level and content or those with whom you will work in the future?

You will present your life history (or your classmate’s) in a digital storytelling format using your choice of software (MS PhotoStory 3, voicethread, moviemaker, I-movie). Presentations should take 5-7 minutes.
