New Architecture

By: Jesi Tassava

The Architecture in Europe from the 19th century to present day has gone through many changes. Beginning with Historicism, in which Revolutionary architecture was brought back to life and then into the Industrial Revolution in which many new materials were used to create structures. Following the Industrial Revolution was the Art-Nouveau Movement which was at the turn of the century and a time when architects began developing new ideas as opposed to turning to the past like they did during the 1800’s. After the turn of the century, European architects moved into  Modern and Postmodern styles. All of the styles that developed after the 18th century are very different from each other and reflect the development of Europe during this time.
