Financial Wellness with Pete the Planner

Wednesday, January 30th: “One Hour to Change”

Local financial counselor Peter Dunn, a.k.a. “Pete the Planner,” will present “One Hour to Change,” a discussion on improving your financial life, on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 3 p.m. in the Johnson Boardroom. He will discuss how to reduce spending, create a practical budget, save for the future, and address money within your relationshipsRegistration for this event is required.

February-March:  “60 Days to Change”

Pete the Planner will lead an online- and email-based program that will lead participants through a series of financial goals. This program is meant to help you control your personal finances and decrease your stress over money issues. Registration for this event is required.

Prizes will be award to top participant in each of these categories 1) pays down the most debt, 2) saves the most money, and 3) eliminates the most expenses.

Discover Your Wellness Within

Healthy Horizons will be sponsoring a four week wellness series entitled “Discover Your Wellness Within.”  Participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions during the month of February.

Session 1:  Thursday, February 7th @ AU 302

Managing Stress presented by Mindy Wallpe

Want to gain a better understanding of how stress impacts your life and the importance of finding balance? Come learn about the dangers of stress, how to utilize your strengths, and the importance of finding time for self-care.

Session 2:  Thursday, February 14th @ AU 302

Healthy Moves at Your Desk: Get Fit While You Sit presented by Beth Lohman

This session will give you practical moves you can do at your desk that help stretch and strengthen the heart and all muscles of the body. You will be given a practical guide to take with you.

Session 3:  Thursday, February 21st @ Krannert Room in the basement of Clowes

Discovering Basic Healthiness presented by Marguerite Stanciu

Through the practice of meditation, we glimpse unconditional healthiness, opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation; we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings.

Please join us for instruction in the sitting practice of meditation, a way to develop mindfulness and awareness in everyday life.

Nutrition and Wellness presented by Healthy Horizons

Discover the importance of proper nutrition for your overall wellness.

All programs begin at noon and will be approximately 45 minutes.   Space is limited, so please register through Healthy Horizons at healthyhorizons@butler.edu or by phone at 940-8143.

Participants that attend at least 3 out of the 4 sessions will be entered to win one of three prizes:  a one hour massage, a 5-session personal training package from the HRC, or a free 1-month HRC membership.
