Butler spring sports are fully underway. The softball team was eager to get started. With a preseason ranking of fourth, the dawgs have some work to do.

The Bulldogs are currently 1-10 in play. The team looks to improve on the season and be prepared for Big East play with some hefty competition in their early season.

“We played Minnesota and Western Kentucky this past weekend. We will play Mizzou and Pitt this upcoming week. It is only going to get harder from here, but it is good competition for conference play,” said Paige Dorsett, a redshirt sophomore first- baseman.

The Bulldogs are excited to have their home-field advantage soon. Sophomore Sydney Carter relays her excitement about being home soon. “It will be nice to have our family and friends at games at our field. We are definitely looking forward to being home.”

Butler’s first home game is March 10th vs. DePaul.

The dawgs current Big East standing is ninth ahead of the Georgetown Hoyas.

The next set of games will be at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Illinois. The dawgs will face off with Southern Illinois University, Loyola University- Chicago, and UT Martin on March 2nd- 5th.
