Following a 75-65 loss to Creighton, the Butler Women’s basketball team hopes to bounce back when they host St. John’s Friday night. Sydney Jaynes led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while three other Butler players finished in double figures. Emma Ronsiek led the way for Creighton with 26 points.

The Red Storm are coming off a 78-63 loss against 11th-ranked UConn Sunday in Connecticut. Ber’Nyah Mayo led St. John’s in scoring with 16 points, while Aaliyah Edwards scored 33 for UConn.

Butler has already played St. John’s earlier this season, losing 60-42 in New York on January 17th. Jaynes led the way for Butler with 13 points.

Butler is coming into this game on a three-game losing streak and is 1-10 in conference play overall. They are led by senior guard Caroline Strande, who leads Butler with 14.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

St. John’s comes into Indy after the loss to UConn, but is 8-4 in conference play overall. Senior guard Unique Drake leads the Red Storm with 18.5 points per game..

One of the biggest x-factors of the game will be the three-point line. Butler ranks second in the Big East shooting 38.5% from three as a team, while St. John’s is ninth, shooting just 30.6% from three. If Butler can heat up from beyond the arc, it could go a long way in helping the Bulldogs secure the victory.
