With the NCAA Football season coming to a close, the offseason has arrived, which in today’s age of NIL and constant college athlete movement, means the transfer portal is filled with active college football players looking for new opportunities.

One of the biggest moves that has already occurred was the movement of former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, who transferred to the University of Miami. Beck was awarded with a $4.4 million NIL deal with Miami upon the transfer and looks to up his draft stock in his last college season.

A big portal winner so far is Ole Miss, as head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels have been heavily capitalizing on the portal with big acquisitions thus far. Portal players include tight end Luke Hasz, wide receiver Caleb Odom, edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen, as well as many other players. With the loss of star quarterback Jaxson Dart, the Rebels will look to continue their pursuit of a college football playoff bid that they fell short of this year.

The LSU Tigers have also been making a big push in the transfer portal, acquiring two big playmakers in former Oklahoma Sooner Nic Anderson and former Kentucky Wildcat Barion Brown. These new offensive weapons will work with projected 2026 first round pick quarterback Garrett Nussmeier to provide an explosive LSU offense once again.

Other programs that may not be seen as major players like Texas Tech and Missouri have also had sneaky transfer portal snags. The Red Raiders have made improvements in the trenches on both sides of the ball, bolstering both offensive and defensive lines with players like Howard Sampson and Romello Height that will emerge them as a top Big 12 program in the 2025 season. The addition of star running back Ahmad Hardy for Missouri, who had an incredible freshman season at UL Monroe, will provide a new catalyst for the Missouri offense with the potential to be one of the best playmakers in the entire SEC. Mizzou also bolstered their defense with two proven leaders in Damon Wilson and Josiah Trotter.

With the portal still active and many moves still to be made, we will see how the college football landscape shapes up after the portal officially closes.
