Now on the women’s side of the bracket, we are gearing up for the sweet sixteen that will get underway on March 30th. The top two teams to look out for going into the remainder of the tournament are the UConn Huskies and South Carolina Gamecocks. The Huskies are once again led by star Paige Bueckers who is a scorer and facilitator with maybe the biggest impact in all of women’s college basketball. The team has three players who all average over ten points per game, which is a reason for how explosive they are on offense. UConn is coming off of two games of absolute domination over Arkansas State and South Dakota State as they look to go for it all. The South Carolina Gamecocks are also rolling in hot after a couple of wins over Tennessee Tech and Indiana. This team is known for their defensive efforts and are a tough team to score against. Head coach Dawn Staley plays up to ten players with immense minutes on the floor to keep everyone fresh and as aggressive as they can be on defense. The Gamecocks have zero weaknesses across the board and are definitely a contender for the national championship.
