Dr. Brandie Oliver, assistant professor of School Counseling, spoke to RTV6 for a news story that was aired yesterday about signs a student may be the victim of bullying.  Dr. Oliver has spoken about bullying with several news organizations, conferences and workshops to address this growing issue in education.  Dr. Oliver co-facilitated a summer work group with Brian Dobias in response to the HEA 1423 Anti Bullying Legislation.  She is a leader in anti-bullying initiatives and research in the state and beyond.  We are so proud of the work of Dr. Oliver and hope you can learn something valuable from her piece with RTV6 as an educator, parent or community member.

You can see the video and read the accompanying article on RTV6’s webpage.

If you’d like to find out more about the work that Dr. Oliver and Mr. Dobias facilitated as part of the summer work group mentioned above, the IDOE website offers an array of resources for school counselors, teachers and educational communities here.
