New Workshop! Bullying Basics and Beyond: Tools to respond to the Antibullying Legislation (HEA 1423)

Dr. Brandie Oliver, assistant professor in the School Counseling program, is offering a workshop this fall as a response to the new bullying legislation.  If you, your school, your teachers, or others are interested, please read more below and join us on November 18th for this valuable session!  We want to help you prepare your schools with appropriate responses and interventions!

Bullying Basics and Beyond: Tools to respond to the Antibullying Legislation (HEA 1423)

When: Monday, November 18 from 12:30-4:30pm

Where: Butler University, Pharmacy Building 150

What: This workshop will focus on expanding participants’ knowledge and skills related to bullying prevention and intervention.  We will focus on increasing the understanding of HEA 1423 and how your school can respond to this legislation.

You will gain tools and resources to implement in your school’s bullying prevention and intervention program. Discussion will include: advocacy, empowering students, bullying at school and home, strategies to build your program, and the importance of empathy.

Options for this workshop:

  1. Workshop only: $50 Registration Fee

Attend Monday, November 18th from 12:30-4:30 (earn 4 PGPs)

  1. Enroll for 1 graduate credit hour workshop: $50 Registration Fee and you will be billed separately for the tuition cost of $241.50.

Attend Monday, November 18th from 12:30-4:30 and complete remaining 11 hours in an online format. Participants in the 1 credit hour workshop will be asked to read and review additional materials and develop components (i.e., lessons, training tools) that will fit in their school’s bullying prevention and intervention program.
