Enjoying some time together at school.
The Beery family works on a sculpture.
I also had to share how much I enjoyed our family night last night. It was so great to see families engaging with one another and sharing the accomplishments of our children. The most powerful moment for me was when the children shared their family’s sculptures about
their image ofthe child.

We celebrated Heaven and DeOnna’s birthdays today by making cupcakes for the class! Thank you to DeOnna’s family and Heaven’s family for helping bake the delicious cupcakes!
Last night we had a wonderful first Family Night! Each family made a wire sculpture representing their child, and then we shared what each other made. It was so nice to be able to spend some time seeing you all work and share together!
Have a good weekend!!

"Mrs. Argus, look at all these boxes!"- Hutton
If you thought we had supportive families, just wait untill you hear this- two days ago, our class sent home a letter explaining our need for some boxes for our airplane we are building. Within just two days, we have recieved over eighty-five boxes- that’s right EIGHTY FIVE!!!
This morning, the kids were so astonished at the large amount of boxes that have been coming in and we decided we needed to count and organize them. First, we had to talk about how to organize our growing number of materials. We decided by size would probably be best, so we have been making piles of small, medium, and large boxes. After the boxes were organized today, a group of friends began counting. We counted up all the way to eighty-five. We also have twenty paper towel rolls and one large can. We want to start planning on Monday and talk about how best to utilize our large number of resources. It will certainly be a day for lots of big thinking and possibilities.
Journey and Da'Sean are a huge help as they sort our boxes and paper towel rolls.

The day finally arrived when we ALL found out what kind of bug has been invading our classroom for weeks upon weeks. Yesterday and today, some of our friends chose to spend their time researching our mystery bugs on the computer. Yesterday, Leah and Larry found our bug on the internet and found out it is called the Red Headed Ash Borer. Today, they returned to the computers, did some additional research, and then presented their new found knowledge to our class! It was a very exciting day in room 105!
Leah and Larry present their findings to the class.
Leah finds a picture on the internet that matches the bugs in our classroom.

We had an exciting day before and after school. The kids got their fair share of sweets today. This afternoon we celebrated September birhtdays in our classroom. Thank you to Jaiden’s dad for coming in to help bake! I know that Jaiden and Kristien really appreciated it. 🙂
Jaiden and Kristien we both so happy to pass out the cupcakes they made!
As if that was not enough, we had a wonderful Family Night tonight. Thank you for all who came! It was a good turn out of families who helped create some art work for our school. Each family was asked to create an image of their child with wire and beads. These images will be on display in the school in the near future. If you were not able to make if do not worry! We will have another one soon! Here are a few pictures from our first Family Night!
