Welcome back!!  We are very excited to be back to school after a week long break.  I just wanted to remind everyone that this THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1st we will be having our Family Math Night from 6:00-7:00 at school.  Come and learn a few of the games the kids have been playing over the past weeks at school.  Each family will leave with a math packet full of games to play together at home.

Mystery Reader

Leah was our Mystery Reader!

We had a big day today! Our 3rd mystery reader was someone inside the school.  Leah, Sophia’s sister, was our mystery reader.  As always, if you would like to be a mystery reader or know someone in your family who would like to be one please let me know!

Where should the bin go?!

The class outside in the parking lot asking, "Where should we put the paper bin?"

We have very exciting news!  We are in the process of applying for a Paper Retriever Bin to help us with our recycling.  The bin is as big as a typical garbage bin so today we went out into the parking lot to see where the best location would be.  We finally decided in the parking lot at the end near St. Richards (so they can use it too) but on the sidewalk side (so our students can get to it safely).

Field Trip!

We had a very exciting day today.  We took our field trip to the White River Recycling Facility.  This Facility specializes in recycling paper so we saw many different types: cardboard, newspaper, copy paper, print paper, and even more!  We learned how they sort it and what the do to reuse and recycle the paper.  I am sure the kids are coming home excited about their day!

Look at all of that paper!

The actual belt with the paper that needed to be sorted was a class favorite.

Did you know the paper bails were that high?!

I know that this trip will lead to a very exciting conversation tomorrow.  We are working on developing our own recycling center at the school and plan on using a few ideas from today’s trip.  Keep reading as we will be putting more information about our school recycling up soon!
