Leah was our Mystery Reader!
We had a big day today! Our 3rd mystery reader was someone inside the school. Leah, Sophia’s sister, was our mystery reader. As always, if you would like to be a mystery reader or know someone in your family who would like to be one please let me know!

Cameron and Miss Schmidt look at a globe together. Cameron spots Antarctica!
Today, our class started a discussion on how we could show off our airplane to our families and friends while displaying the knowledge we have learned about flight. We decided we would like to go on a pretend trip to somewhere around the world and are inviting you all to join us! This event will most likely take place one evening before Winter Break. When we get back from break, our class will have a discussion on where exactly we want our flight to take us. Today, we began an investigation on maps and globes, and atlas’. The kids had some great observations about our new materials. When looking at a map of Indianapolis, the kids immediately picked up on locations like Lawrence and Fishers and pointed them out. Monica, Zek, and I looked for our houses together on the map. Then Messi noticed something. “Mrs. Argus! The Indianapolis Airport!” He saw the large airport on the map and everyone got very excited at his find. Then we began noticing small planes around the map. We wondered what these were for. We looked down at the legend and found that the pictures of small planes indicate small airports across Indianapolis. There are quite a few!

I cannot begin to tell you how much tonight meant to me and the kids! We are so thankful to you all for supporting us! Your claps, laughter, hugs, and voices really helped boost the children’s performances even more! I was SO proud of their performances. I felt that each one was special and memorable so thank you for being there!
I hope that you all enjoyed it! If you have any good pictures or video, let me know so I can maybe get a copy!
Thanks again, and we are looking forward to wearing pajamas tomorrow to school!

The class outside in the parking lot asking, "Where should we put the paper bin?"
We have very exciting news! We are in the process of applying for a Paper Retriever Bin to help us with our recycling. The bin is as big as a typical garbage bin so today we went out into the parking lot to see where the best location would be. We finally decided in the parking lot at the end near St. Richards (so they can use it too) but on the sidewalk side (so our students can get to it safely).

Today, the buzz was all about how the children could say, “Tomorrow is our puppet show!” They kept saying it throughout the day with such excitement and enthusiasm.
Today we performed our shows for the preschoolers! They were the first audience (other than each other) to watch our shows, and they did such a great job watching and enjoying the shows! Afterwards, it was a challenge to keep the class on the ground because they were floating with such excitement. I cannot begin to tell you how proud they were of themselves. Wait until tomorrow night!

Our preschool friends being a attentive audience.
