Irwin Library has a new Laptop-Charging Station in the Information Commons area on the main floor.
If you are using a laptop in the library and need to charge your battery, we have two “universal” chargers available near the Information Commons Desk. Use the Manual on the table to determine which tip to use, plug it into the end of the adapter, and charge away!
As always, if you have any questions, please ask at the Information Commons Desk.
There are two multi-format memory card readers available in Irwin Library. Most formats and sizes of memory cards can be used with these. If you need to transfer photos, video recordings, or other rich media files, these devices are already connected to computers via USB, so you can just plug your card in and go.
One device is on the iMac in the Rich Media Room downstairs in the Education Commons.
The other device is on the Multimedia Station PC in the Information Commons (the computer with the scanner).
Many of the libraries’ subscription databases have “mobile” versions that are scaled down to fit the screen size of most handheld devices. Just visit our Databases page like normal, but click on the “Mobile” icons located next to the database names to search those databases on your handheld device.
Irwin Library has partnered with IR to implement a new laptop loaner program. You can read about it here:
http://www.butler.edu/library/library-information/library-policies/laptop-loaner-policy
Students can check devices out for 24 hours and the devices may leave the library. Faculty or staff can have the devices for 2 weeks. Also, faculty or staff may reserve these devices for university-related business.
