The creation of this specialized pharmacist role in the Gastroenterology/Hepatology clinic at Eskenazi Health would optimize both cost and patient outcomes. This additional service will allow for patients to experience a more personalized treatment and monitoring plan while giving providers more time for other appointments and acute patient care. This service will provide valuable patient education and assist in accessing cost effective hepatitis C medications to reach a cure; all while maintaining our goal of serving the vulnerable patient population.
