The Butler Bulldogs men’s basketball team beat the Seton Hall Pirates 84-54, making this game the Pirates eighth straight loss of the season.
The Pirates were greeted with a small crowd to cheer them on, which was a message sent by the fans that there needs to be change to the basketball program. The Pirates are now on their longest losing streak since 2013.
Three injuries are stunting the Pirates growth, dropping them even lower in the Big East rankings.
“It’s a feeling I never thought I would be experiencing,” Hall coach Shaheen Holloway said. “I don’t feel great. I feel bad, not for me, I feel bad for those young men in my locker room. I’m a big boy, this comes with territory and sometimes you have a tough season. I feel bad for them because they’re working hard, they’re trying. It’s not good feeling, it’s hard to explain how I’m feeling, but it doesn’t feel good right now.”
The Bulldogs shot 50% from the arc and the Pirates forced 17 turnovers. But, it was not enough for the Pirates to hold on.
