Super Bowl Brings Super Models to Super Dawg
Super Bowl season is officially upon as today, Jan. 27, 2012, Indianapolis, Ind. becomes “Super Indy” for the first time as host of the NFL’s Super Bowl XLVI. Although, I think I might have spoiled today’s fanfare with my appearance earlier in the week with a couple of highly sought-after dames. (I’m a dog, thus I can use that word in an endearing manner.)
After all, you can’t expect to pair Victoria’s Secret super model Adriana Lima, celebrity fitness guru Jillian Michaels, and America’s Dawg at one of the nation’s finest steakhouses for a national TV shoot, and not see some headlines.
Thanks to my pals at St. Elmo’s Steakhouse, who hosted a part of the shoot for CBS’ “Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials,” (airs at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1) I was invited to take part in the fun and will star along side Lima and Michaels.
I don’t want to give too much away, but basically I just had to sit there while the ladies read some lines and re-introduced me to America. Yep, still America’s Dog!
Unfortunately, I didn’t get any photography or videos from the shoot, but besides the CBS cameras, folks from The Indianapolis Star, Getty Images and others were on hand, so more photos are sure to surface in the days and weeks to come.
Scientifically, I may be canis lupus familiaris, but practically speaking, I’m a “media hound,” so I absolutely loved being a part of that shoot. It didn’t hurt that the scenery was nice too, but let’s face it, my real thrill came from the shoot location. I mean c’mon, it’s St. Elmo’s Steakhouse for crying out loud; America’s Dog at America’s Steakhouse, a match made in heaven!
I was handsomely rewarded for my on-camera efforts by the St. Elmo staff too, which reminds me, if you’ve never had their filet mignon sliders, you haven’t lived! My mouth is watering just thinking about them! Meanwhile, Pops devoured as much of their famous shrimp cocktail as he could muster. I guess you could say we were more than satisfied.
And if that weren’t enough, I’m headed back to St. Elmo’s on Wednesday to live-tweet during the airing of the show, which starts at 8:00p (ET) on CBS. Set your DVRs or make plans to watch live because many of the extras on the show include some people you might recognize, and a lot of them were not-ugly either.
Now that Super Indy has arrived, I’m anticipating for more engagements, media appearances and other fun. Well, for starters I’ve got some guy named Jimmy Fallon coming to campus on Sunday for a 90-minute show in Clowes Memorial Hall with some friends.
Seems like a perfect opportunity to corner him and give him the hard sell on having me on the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon program which will be shooting in Indy next week. Watch for the #Blue2onLateNight campaign to continue on Twitter!
Make sure you get out to experience the Super Bowl fun. The actual game is only just a fraction of the fun to be had, so check out the official Super Bowl website, download the apps, and make plans to get out and enjoy Super Indy! I’ll see you there!
