In the Houston airport I remember hearing SWA employees talking to each other about how excited they were to have their picture taken with you. You were such a star! I’m another person who was never lucky enough to meet Blue II in person, but grew to love him from afar via Twitter. I follow hundreds of entities on Twitter, but there are only two lists I check several times a day, every day — one of them is my Blue list. As a 1997 Butler graduate, I was so excited to have the honor of driving Blue II and his “Pops”, Michael Kaltenmark, in the 2011 500 Festival Parade. I will never forget the crowd yelling Blue’s name and cheering as we drove through the parade route. Sometimes Blue would bark back as the crowd cheered. I was so proud to be a Butler alumni.
