I first found out about Blue when scrolling through the NY Post/TMZ website and saw a picture of him on a plane with the pilots heading to the final 4 game. I’ll never forget that picture and the smile it gave me. I quickly became obsessed after I learned he had this own twitter and I could even view him via ustream in his office. I might live in NJ but I am a huge fan. I wish I had t…

Although my name is Hoosier I’ve always looked up to Blue II! He’s been my hero and I’ll definitely miss him! Rest in peace big…

My heart was BROKEN and TORN yesterday afternoon when I came home from school, went on my Instagram, and saw the post that Blue III posted about Blue’s passing. I was sobbing so much, and I couldn’t believe that he was gone. He touched so many people’s hearts and he was special to everyone. Whenever I was having a bad day, I always loved to see his posts on Instagram and his tweets on Twitter and…

As an “adopted Bulldog” (I married into it), I have enjoyed watching Blue II from his first days on campus. As a basketball season ticket holder my favorite memories are of sitting next to people who hadn’t been to a game at Hinkle before, or watching the opposing team’s fans, reactions as Blue dashed across the floor for his giant bone from the Dawg Pound. He captured everyone’s attention even…

Your Hoosier sisters & brothers from Bloomington will miss you Blue! You gave us a mascot to enjoy, especially since we don’t have one! 😉 RIP in heaven buddy. Don’t be too ruff on the other mascots to have gone before you.

I’ll never forget the day that I had the opportunity to meet Blue II and Blue III. When I heard they were in New York, I raced from work to their location and got to spend a few minutes hugging and petting them. Blue, thank you for all the joy you gave me seeing you during the Final Four with your bone and in your various photos and…

I think i’m coming here more as a fan of sports, animals and mascots in general more so then as a fan of Butler. Basketball was never my favorite sport and i didn’t live near where Butler is located. But i learned of Blue II and III and fell in love. I’m sad that he’s gone. Rest easy Blue II. The twitter handle section isn’t working so i’ll just leave it here.

I never was lucky enough to meet you in person, Blue II, but I met you in my heart. You were the greatest school mascot ever and you will be missed–but never forgotten. I am proud to be a Butler student. My deepest sympathies to the Kaltenmark family.

Whether it was on twitter and flickr or during the national TV coverage of his two Final Four appearances, Blue was a true ambassador for Butler University, collegiate athletics, and sportsmanship writ large. God bless and godspeed, Blue. You will be missed but never forgotten. –Big…

On behalf of your friends at UWM, my deepest condolences go out to the Kaltenmarks and the entire Butler community. Blue II always brought a smile to my face each time I saw that lovable mug on TV. See you on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge … I’m sure you are over there telling some great stories of your travels already.
