i stay quiet
On December 8, 2015
a poem by [brandy]
I stay quiet so that I don’t
bring sorrow to the people
around me. I don’t say
what I want,
I just stay
silent.
My words pour out
like a river of hate,
I am pushed to
the point where I
break.
The yelling and screaming
is more than I can take.
I pretend that I am
not phased by it,
so I lock the pain
away.
And I stay quiet.
