I spent a happy hour one morning sitting in the campus Starbucks, watching Blue hanging out with his “Pops.” It is one of my favorite Butler memories, even though it came almost 30 years after I graduated. My husband and I got to see Blue II and Blue III and pet them after leaving a home game back in February. They were both adorable and very friendly. I just can’t believe Blue II is gone, but he will live on through Butler’s historical archive of pictures and in the memories of our hearts! Butler Blue II, blue2, has to be considered one of the greatest mascots in NCAA history. Not only helping bring Butler to prominence in sports but being an ambassador for food, clothing, and other information with the school. Blue always loved to be rubbed and loved. and He was a great supporter of his teams irregardless of the sport or gender… although I think he liked the ladies best. :)…
