I could tell you about all the times I saw Blue II running around campus or on the basketball court, but I think my favorite memory is when I went to drop off a form to the CSE office in the basement of Jordan Hall, and Blue II was taking a little nap in the hallway. On my way back out, he had woken up, so I paused to pet him for a minute, and he just growled at me. As if to say “Listen, I’m…

Blue was my Twiiter buddy. We love bulldogs and have Winston, a 10yr old EB. Blue was always so supportive of Winston whenever he got a bath or a trip to the vet. Blue was arguably the best live mascot that sports has even known, at any level. He was always quick to point out that it wasn’t about him, but something much bigger. My memories of Blue were during the Matt Howard era during the basketball seasons. I started many an evening at Hinkle watching Blue during the introductions before the game. He seemed to really love his job as mascot, and it was obvious he loved his reward at the end of the introductions. I will always treasur…

Forgive me Butler basketball, but I really went to the games to see Blue. Any sighting on campus always made my day. Thanks for making Butler so much more because of your presence. Enjoy the Huddle’s cups, Pup cups, basketballs, cardboard boxes and endless dog treats up there. You deserve them…

I am so sorry for your loss. Blue was the sole reason we found out about Butler university in the beginning and the reason why our family has a English Bulldog now. We have made several trips from Central Ohio to see Blue and brought him several presents along the way. One of my favorite memories of Blue is on one of our trips over we brought him a bone. When we walked into the gym post gam…
