Seeing Blue has always been the highlight of any trip to Butler. He arrived on campus my senior year, and made it that much more difficult to leave the place I’d called home for four years…there was an adorable puppy mascot now! But I loved visiting him every time I came back to campus, whether it was the Bulldog Jog, Homecoming, Hinkle or just a trip to Holcomb Gardens and the Bookstore.

Wow. Can’t believe you’re already gone. Nine years. However, no mascot (or animal for that matter) lived a more fulfilling nine years than you.
Unfortunately (truth be told), I wasn’t always a Butler fan. There was a time when I followed a “General” with die-hard support. I knew of Butler but I didn’t TRULY know it. When that “General” retired, I was a man without a country. I loved colleg…

Blue was a wonderful member of the Butler family. He was not only a mascot, but a pet to everyone on campus. Losing him is like losing one of my own. Running into him on campus was truly the highlight of week. I remember seeing him after a really rough day and I was immediately happier. I bent down to pet him and received lots of love. All my stress was gone. I was heartbroken to learn of his…

Been a Butler fan since 94. Was there at Hinkle when you were introduced and fell in love you with immediately. It’s been so much fun watching you over the years. I loved seeing the men’s basketball team give you good luck rubs over the years and then watching you trot across the court to retrieve your ginormous dog bone. Loved watching you during all the Final Four festivities, especially seeing…

Blue, my daughters have grown up from toddlers to middle school students during your years of service, and I’m so thankful that we have a lifetime of their pictures with you. We have embraced Trip with open hearts, but there will never be another Blue quite like you! This quote from one of your media stories today perfectly says everything that I can’t:
“Symbols matter. Uniforms, flags,…

Watching Blue at the Final Four games, I began following him on Twitter and just fell in love with him. Blue had such a sweet face and the pictures of him and Baby Bro had to be my favorites. He was such a wonderful mascot for Butler as are Michael and his family. RIP Blue we all loved you.
