I remember seeing you come out of the Blue Mobile and head to Jordan as I was coming to work. Pops sometimes had to prod you to come along because you would rather sniff in the bushes or say “hi’ to the people who greeted you. I remember you at Starbucks getting so excited over your pup cups! I remember watching you devour a box with relish because you were, after all, a tough Butler bulldog.

LOVED!! the passing of the collar, of course…a wonderful tribute to time well spent as America’s dog. But more than anything, I will always remember the loyalty to the boys who wore the uni’s. Always there for a quick pet or ear scratch during the announcement of the lineups. You made us proud, pup! You will be forever missed and never…

My husband and I came to Butler the same year as Blue and we loved watching him grow up. Both Butler athletes, we take such pride in our school and everything it stands for. Blue was the perfect dog for the job. We even got to introduce our daughter to him and Trip as part of their Big Dawgs Tour. Blue has always and will always be a big part of Butler to us and he will be forever loved and…

Blue II,
You have always been, and will continue to be, more than just an english bulldog. You are a symbol of greatness, an inspiration for youth, and best of all, the Butler University official mascot. You’ve been there for every win and every loss – in home sweet Hinkle, on the road, and in front of the TV at home. Appearing in Mental Floss videos, Super Bowl events, and on your Bulldog…

My daughter graduated from Butler in 2011 and during her time at Butler, I kept an eye on all the happenings there. I learned about Blue during the basketball runs and started following him on Twitter. I loved his comments and at times I looked in on him from the cam in Mr. Kaltenmark’s office. I always was impressed with how composed he was during interviews on TV, and how well he performed…

I am so greatly saddened by your passing, Blue II. I am a graduate of Butler, class of 2010. No matter what kind of week I was having while a student, just seeing your presence around the University somehow made everything better. I was always thrilled to see you playing, walking, and of course in line at Starbucks. You truly are the face of the University, and I will always have fond…
