Today I added to my document comparing internet sites that will be good for organizations and I sent it to Erica to find a time to work on the next step of this project.

I began Panopto training reading the Quick Guides (but, I wanted to try doing some of the additions and I couldn’t find many of the buttons or icons the quick guide clearly stated they weren’t there. Maybe if I work on the mac next shift I can continue with the training and make more progress)

I edited my wordpress to make sure it was still pretty

Today I went with Meg to set up Panopto in a classroom in Gallahue. I also reviewed my iMovie script and Digital Storytelling for when I present in front of Meg sometime this week. I worked on my WordPress blog (the personal one), and this week I am going to finish the checklist and take the WordPress quiz. I looked up some tutorials on Photoshop online, so I can continue working on the Photoshop project. I also sent in my IC reflection.

Looking at the big picture, what have you done during your time in IC?

I have learned how to interact with faculty and staff as well as students and be able to answer questions knowledgeably or with a confident “I don’t know the answer but I know who to ask”

Describe your most memorable experience, accomplishment, or road block you have encountered in the program thus far.

Accomplishment: organizing documents and putting together an example portfolio for College of Education and then presenting that information with my group.

Accomplishment: working of the newsletter

Road block: feeling that my opinion doesn’t matter because I am not an associate and feeling like I have ideas for the program but do not know who to voice them to.

List 3-5 tips, or pieces of advice, you would give to future IC student workers.

Be able to think outside the box to answer questions and solve problems.

Ask more questions than you think you need to.  This makes sure you are answering exactly what they want to know and not just what they asked at first.

Be able to locate all info in the library or know who to ask.  Memorize BU Answers and where common services are located on campus.

Don’t just try and say you do not know an answer.  Be willing to look for it in more than one way and then seek help.

What have you learned to be your strengths thus far?  In what areas do you need to grow?

Strengths: Knowing how to answer questions and where the resources are to find the answers.  Relating to the people who are asking questions and hopefully leaving them with a sense that they can do what I just showed and explained to them.

Need to grow: I need to be able to work with others better and ask for help when I need it.  I do not often work with other people in the library so it often feels like an isolated work environment.

What are you passionate about?  What drives you?

I love helping people.  IN the library whenever someone has a question it is amazing to help them through the process of finding what they need or how to find it.

Combining your strengths, areas of growth, and passions, please develop an individual goal for your continued growth in the IC program. For help with goal setting, visit http://www.mindtools.com/page6.html.

My goal for my growth in IC is to be able to put my knowledge of programs and information together and make a professional profile that I can show to preceptors or employers in the future that shows my accomplishments at Butler and IC.
