Why can’t I remove the advising hold?

If you are a student’s advisor of record, and you get the error message ‘You are not authorized to delete the service indicator’ when you try to remove the student’s advising hold, check that you’re attempting to remove the correct hold record.

You can only remove an advising hold. Some students may have more than one advisor, so it’s important to check the screen carefully to determine which hold record is yours. To move through multiple service indicators, look in the upper right corner of the dark blue bar for the Left arrow icon and Right arrow icon arrows. Use these arrows to move through all the hold records until you find the appropriate one. You should see your own name on the screen near the Service Indicator Code field, and the Service Ind Reason Code field should read ‘Meet with Advisor.’

Additionally, be sure you’ve clicked the Save button button after clicking the minus sign sign, as described in the help topic How do I remove the ‘advising hold?’
