Our Events
Over the last few years, Program Board continues to go bigger and better with the events we bring the students here at Butler. Beginning with Butlerpalooza, a concert we put on in the first few weeks, we have brought well-known artists including Smash Mouth, Chiddy Bang, B.o.B. and this year Lupe Fiasco.
Program Board’s Special Events committee is in charge of putting on Homecoming, a week long program of exciting events not just on campus, but in various places around Indy. We hope that this years theme Broadway will continue to bring more and more involvement from both students and faculty!
Program Board also brings Butler Dance Marathon to life in the HRC, with fun and exciting dances, games and laughter to help benefit Riley Children’s Hospital. Spring Sports Spectacular has two major events throughout the year, beginning with Polar Plunge outside the HRC, where teams and students jump into freezing water to help raise money for the Special Olympics Indiana. Spring Sports culminates in the Spring at Spring Sports Spectacular, a night long event full of food, events and laughter to continue to raise money for the Special Olympics Indiana. Both of these events have raised over $200,000 and we hope this year we can top this!
We also have had events such as Josh Radnor (Ted from How I Met Your Mother) come to speak to us, trips to NFL games, up and coming bands perform at Starbucks, and new films shown before going to DVD. Our goal is to bring students events and trips to places they have never been to before, and allowing them to experience as much of Indy and the Midwest before they graduate.
