Vice President
Kaylie Ricks
Vice President of Program Board
Hello! My name is Kaylie Ricks and I am a junior journalism major with a minor in digital media production and Spanish. I love being involved on Butler University’s campus. Along with being the Vice President of Programming, I am also a Student Orientation Guide, a member of Order of Omega, Blue Key, Phi Eta Sigma National Honors Society, and Phi Sigma Iota Foreign Language Honor Society. I also just finished up my term as Event Chairman of my sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma.
As Vice President of Programming, I am responsible for overseeing Butler’s Program Board. Program Board is broken up into 10 committees that put on various events throughout the year. These boards include Special Events, Concerts, Dance Marathon, Spring Sports, Podium Expressions, Out n’ About, Late Nite, Recreation, Coffeehouse, and Films. All of the boards are responsible for different events.
Special Events organizes Homecoming and Exam Jam.
Concerts’ biggest event is our annual ButlerPalooza.
Dance Marathon hosts a huge event every spring that works directly with Riley’s Children Hospital.
Spring Sports puts on their event “Spring Sports,” a 12 hour event full of fun and friendly athletic competition.
Podium Expressions brings speakers to campus to educate the Butler community. This year, they are bringing Laverne Cox from Orange is the New Black. Last year, they brought Josh Radnor, from How I Met Your Mother.
Out n’ About takes Butler students out in Indianapolis for different activities, such as dinners at different Indy restaurants.
Late Nite committee hosts events between the hours of 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. on and off campus.
Recreation brings students farther from campus to participate in activities students wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to do. Last year, Recreation took student zip-lining and cave diving.
Coffeehouse hosts concerts in Starbucks monthly.
Films host brand new movies every Friday and Saturday in Jordan Hall 141.
I am so excited to be able to work with these boards and to better Butler University’s programs! I have been involved on Program Board for two years! I have been a co-chair for Late Nite committee and Out n’ About. My goal is for students here at Butler to always have a program to attend! I have loved my time on Program Board and I want every student to get the experience I have been able to have!
I hope I can continue to bring you all fun-filled events to enjoy! If you are looking to get involved in Program Board, or have a question about one of the committees, please don’t hesitate to send me an email at kricks@butler.edu or at programboard@butler.edu!

Favorite Butler Memory
My freshman year, I attended just about every program that Program Board had to offer. This was how I met so many new friends. However, my all-time favorite memory would have to be planning great formals for my sorority sisters and their dates. Giving girls the opportunity to make awesome memories and have a fun, care-free night, is one of my favorite things!
