Monthly Challenge: September 2012

Congrats for surviving the hustle and bustle of the first few weeks!  How do I congratulate you?  By adding more to your already crazy schedule!  Hear me out..  it’s all about finding our balance — it’s what makes us good students, good athletes, good friends, etc.  So, for the the month of September, the key word is REGISTER.  Whatever it may be… it could be a dance contest put on by a Greek House, a 5K fun run, or even something more challenging (i.e. a personal training program at the HRC, half marathon).  The point is to remain involved with everything (school, work, friends), yet try to incorporate some type of fitness into your daily lives.  It may require more “time,” but this time (used for training or practicing) is YOUR time.  This time can be used to process everything that has happened throughout the day or to forget about it; and here is the cool part — you don’t have to SHARE :).  By becoming more involved on campus or donating to a charity through that 5K, you not only help others but yourself.  Having completed my first half this past Sunday, I am convinced it was my training schedule that saved me from the stress and frustration college sometimes carries.  Yes, the early morning runs were sometimes a pain, thinking about proper fueling was tedious, but I ALWAYS felt better afterwards and earned the experience of a lifetime.  So, yeah, I am going to challenge you… REGISTER.

Think of it this way: A LITTLE EXTRA TIME + POSSIBLY SOME CASH (get your friends to enroll and split the costs!!) + WORKING OUT = SATISFACTION, AMAZING EXPERIENCES, HAPPY AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE…

hmm, looks like a great payoff to me 🙂
