October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Sports not really you’re thing?  Raise some awareness!  October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and even if you or your family has been fortunate to not be affected by the disease, chances are, you will run into someone who has been.  So, this month, think pink.  Events for this cause are all over the place.  Check out some of these events other communities are hosting.

If you cannot take part in some of the festivities listed this month (i.e. Breast Cancer Walk or passing collection buckets for research), share a story with someone in order to raise awareness.  Even a few inspirational posts on here to keep us thinking would be nice.  Let’s fight for those who need our help.

Here are a few examples of some inspirational stories, posted by women all over onto the Susan G. Komen website.  These women affected are real people, ranging from Zumba fitness instructors to postal carriers.  Help them spread awareness by sharing your own stories.  Whether you’re going out as “BU’s Biggest Sports Fan” or posting about a personal experience to raise awareness, you have aced this monthly challenge.  So, bottom line?  Show support by being your crazy college self (but think PINK!)
