I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I apologize for my lack of oats posting — the weather go the best of me! However, I am going to share with you a delicious recipe that made my Friday fantastic and fabulous (and fruity!). If you have a bowl of these berry oats, you can’t go wrong!
BB’s Berry Oats
Ingredients:
1/2 cup, quick-cooking whole grain oats
3/4-1 cup of water (depending on desired thickness)
1/2 cup frozen berries
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
dash cinnamon
*optional: sweetener of choice (i.e. packet of stevia)
Directions:
Pour oats into a microwave-safe bowl. Add water (or milk if you want a richer flavor). Microwave on high for two minutes, letting sit in the microwave for at least 30 seconds. Stir oats.
Microwave the berries with covered with a paper towel on the defrost setting — they should not be steaming but thawed (about 1 minute 30 seconds)
Meanwhile, add the honey and stir in the oats
Add the berries ….
Stir!
Delicious whole grains + antioxidant and vitamin packed topping = #winningmeal
No need to speak, just say “nom, nom” as you enjoy!
