It is always great to have people cheering you on during a race, a workout buddy to accompany you when you’re trying to survive strength training, but how do you stay motivated alone? Music can be great, but sometimes I find a quote or a mantra if you will to be most effective. Therefore, on this Thursday I am thankful that certain individuals have shared their wisdom with us — to encourage us, to empower us, to compete against no one but ourselves. Here are some of my favorite quotes I sometimes chant to myself on a long run or when I have a heavy lifting day.
